Summer Tonic

A good bracing G&T is wonderful, but add a little sweetness and elderflower from the St. Germain, and a few drops of peach bitters, and you have just enough sweetness to win over novice and experienced drinkers alike.  Possibly my most well received and simple welcome cocktail to date.

In a small glass (baby rocks):

Pour 3/4 oz. Gin
Pour 1/4 oz. St. Germain
Add 2 Dashes of Peach Bitters
Add Ice
Fill With Fevertree or Fentimans Tonic Water

Garnish with a Lemon

Welcome Drink #2 Garden Mule:
One of the best things about cocktails is how real they are.  Instead of a wine where you pick up stone fruits or petrol, there are actual fruits (and hopefully not gasoline) in a cocktail!  And they express all of that flavor and color.  Gardens always make me think of staining my hands with berries, and the cucumber notes evoke fresh grass and salads.

In a 12  ounce glass or Moscow Mule Mug:

Pour 1 oz. Vodka
Cut 1/2 a lime and squeeze the juice into the glass
Take 5-6 blackberries or raspberries and two slices of cucumber and gently mush them into the drink with a muddler or a wooden spoon
Fill with Reed's Ginger Beer

Garnish with lime slices or candied ginger
